TYPHOON Wipha landed in Cangnan County, Wenzhou City of Zhejiang Province at 2:30am today, packing wind of 45 meters per minute, eastday.com reported today.

The typhoon center is moving towards northwest at 20 kilometer per hour, the report said.

Six villages and towns in Cangnan suffered blackout and communication equipment can't work normally, the report said.

No injury or death was reported by 2:57am and Cangnan government has evacuated 120,000 residents, the report said.

Wipha, possibly the most destructive storm to hit East China in a decade, is expected to hit Shanghai this afternoon with gales and even more torrential rain.
